This year there was no battle, but we martialised our peaceful bivouac by defeating our Saxon allies in several games of Kubb.
We drilled, cooked, sang, and drilled. Our wheelings became better and better. |
We were part of the bataillon uni, under the command of capitaine Clerc. Waterloo showed its worst sides: one day full of an extraordinary heat, the other one started with heavy rain showers. Of course, this didn't affect our good mood.
The battle as it is seen by a serre-file. |
Our bataillon uni at Jena: 4e, 6e, 18e, 22e, 30e, 33e, 57e, 70e, und 85e de ligne, commanded by capitaine Schmidt. |
Our unit formed the section du drapeau of our battallion. |
Nothing stopped our advance, even deep trenches which we had to cross were but an entertaining amusement for our battalion. The way back to the camp was done in the marche de flanc en route. |
Here a short video about the battle, in which our bataillon uni also does appear.
These were very instructive days, but also full of elegance and savoir-vivre. |
Be back soon. |
Some of the photos were made by Jan Štábl and Peter Beissert. Many thanks !
