The 22e demi-brigade de ligne on campaign in 2012.

(Click on the images to enlarge.)

Porcia from 27 to 29 April 2012.

All escouades of the 22e demi-brigade de ligne assembled in Porcia in Northern Italy. We had a reason to celebrate: our epaulets were finally - finally ! - ready and could be distributed !

Du haut de ces temples, 30 millions vous contemplent. Sommeil bien-mérité Bras de Fer. Le Flambeau.
From the heights of the Alps, 30 millions of years were looking down on us.

Voilà. Chamapgne. Sans-Souci. Sur deux rangs.
The epaulets were joyfully delivered and worn.

Section des Épaulettes.
Our new epaulets, enough for a complete section !

Großgörschen from 4 to 6 May 2012.

Happy with our new epaulets, the German grenadiers gathered again just one week later, at Großgörschen.

Le bivouac. En joue. Tirailleurs. Inspection des armes.
Again, we had a beautiful bivouac place at the village pond of Kaja. Our drill in firing became better and better,
as did our skills as tirailleurs. And at the inspection des armes, in the end, also the state of our muskets was impeccable.

Montmirail from 16 to 20 Mai.

Four days of drill, marching, reconnaissance and skirmishes, in the plains, in forests and in villages, amongst the friendly and hospitable inhabitants of the Champagne.

Montmirail 2012.
Our capitaine Schmidt and the French troops present enjoyed a lot to drill together.

Buttstädt from 17 to 19 August 2012.

Diverti. Notre maison. Moustache.
What a luxury: Nights with a real roof above our heads !

Jockgrim from 31 August to 2 September 2012.

Chasseur, Le Joueur, Briquet, L'Hongrois. Chasseur, Le Joueur, Briquet, L'Hongrois. Sergent La Cravate.
An inspection des armes with different degrees of attention:
grenadiers Chasseur, Le Joueur, Briquet, L'Hongrois.
Our sergent ad interim La Cravate took it with his usual good humour.

Auerstedt from 12 to 14 October 2012.

Some photos are by Claudia Behnke and Volker Ramfeld - Thanks !

Toujours en avant. Des beaux profiles. Attention. Belle vue.
In the first skirmish we turned our enemies' left flank by climbing uphill, forcing them to retreat.
The reward was a beautiful view over the valley from their former, now our, position.

Un petit repos. Le soleil du bois. Rôtisseur. Wie aus dem Ei gegossen.
On we went, and after a small rest we could test our skirmishing skills in the forest. Our shadows were in good bearing.

Sergent Champagne et Capitaine Kruguèr Qui est-ce qui est ? Inspection des armes. M'sieur Turenne ...
At our inspection des armes suddenly a strange, mysterious officer showed up: capitaine Kruguère.
He behaved like a Prussian sergeant, but even he couldn't find anything to blame on our muskets.
The day ended around our beautiful campfire, with talking, drinking and singing.

Austerlitz from 31 November to 2 Dezember 2012.

Austerlitz 2012.
Here, we formed the first section of the second platoon in a battalion commanded by capitaine Samek.
